David Lett will be mailing letters for students registered for the state conference that we could not find on a membership roster. Please reply to the list as soon as you receive it. All memberships are due to National DECA by February 25 th for members to be eligible to compete at the State and International CDC.
State Conference - I encourage you to send in your housing and registration as soon as possible, all registration excel files should be emailed to registration@mideca.org The registration deadline is Friday, February 15, 2008. Please do not email me your registration or corrections. I'm on the road a lot this month and it will only slow down the registration process. You should fax this information to 734-487-4329.
Hyatt Reservations - Remember that the Hyatt only processes room reservations when they receive the housing list and full pre payment, so it does not save your space if you fax the list in, once the Hyatt is full, chapters will be assigned to the Doubletree Hotel. They are not able to accept personal credit cards, since they then have to charge the state sales tax. If you do need to call for a specific question, ask for the DECA Reservation Manager, if you just ask for reservations, you will be transferred to their 800 reservation call center and they will tell you that everything has to be mailed in.
Written Event Screening - Will be held on February 23, 2008 at Eastern Michigan University . The screening will start at 10:00 a.m. Please do not arrive prior 9:30 a.m. Screening will not be at our office! It will be held at the New Student Center (Room 310), on Oakwood Road , between Washtenaw and Huron River Drive . Additional information can be found in the competitive events section of the Michigan DECA Guide. http://mideca.org/guide/written.html
The Michigan DECA Advisors' Council has established a policy that all entries (including the Chapter Awards Program and written projects advancing on from a district conference) must be completed and received by 10:00 a.m. on February 23. Events will not be accepted after 10:30 a.m. Advisors are not allowed to make any corrections to the projects once they arrive. So please take a few minutes to be sure that they are complete before you arrive. Please keep in mind that EMU does not receive ANY deliveries on Saturdays, so if you're shipping any projects to us, we must receive them by the 23 rd .
Also remember that the Written Event Statement of Assurances must be completely filled in ( typed ) and inserted in the front of each entry.

Gimmie 5! - Michigan DECA is challenging each chapter to recruit 5 more members than they had last year. Each chapter that accepts this challenge will receive a Commemorative Plaque. February 25 th is the deadline to pay for your memberships to receive this award. We have also updated the list of chapters in each District to include last year's membership and how many members are needed to receive this recognition. The list can be found at http://www.mideca.org/advisors/membership.html The list will be updated every couple of weeks so you can check to see if your chapter will be receiving the award. There are a number of chapters who are very close to receiving the plaque this year, remember that professional and alumni members count towards this award and can be registered using DECA's online membership system http://membership.deca.org/app_main.htm
