A. The number of participants for each district will be determined annually, upon receipt of the fall memberships received by November 30, as a percentage of the total state-wide DECA membership. Each district will be guaranteed a minimum of four (4) participants, per series event, and a maximum of ten (10) participants at the State Career Development Conference. There will be 65 participants for each series event, and 38 Teams in each Management Decision Making Event at the SCDC.

B. If there is an extra slot(s) due to rounding, it will be given to the smallest district(s).

C. In the event that a school is unable to submit their roster, due to circumstances beyond their control, (i.e. a strike or an open teaching position), the advisor may request the state director to use the previous year’s membership when computing the districts’ competitors to the SCDC.

D. The following table lists the number of entries allowed per chapter for each written event at the SCDC.

E. Competitors in the Advertising Campaign, Entrepreneurship – Participating, Fashion Merchandising Promotion Plan, and Technical Marketing Events must qualify at their respective District Conference to compete at the SCDC.

F. Participants in the School Based Enterprise Certification Program, 7 UP Challenge, and Virtual Business Challenge will not compete at the State Conference, and will qualify for the International CDC. Series and MDM event participants must have attended and qualified at their respective district conference to advance on to the State Conference. All other conference participants are encouraged to attended their respective district conferences.
