The next opportunity to participate in a DECA Conference is in October at the Michigan DECA State Leadership Conference. This Conference showcases a number of sessions on competitions, chapter fundraising, leadership development and it gives members the opportunity to meet each other and learn about ways of making their chapters and Michigan DECA better. We need your help to make this conference work.
The State Leadership Conference will be held on October 16th and 17th at the Holiday Inn South in Lansing, Michigan. Please look for conference registration registration online at www.mideca.org or in this edition of the Alumni Connection. This is the first state-wide conference that Michigan DECA Members may participate in.
Those of you that have participated know how exciting this conference is. It is about learning new skills that are not necessarily taught in the classroom. Members get the opportunity to participating in professional leadership and teambuilding training facilitated by Focus Training. Other sessions include competition workshops, how to run for a state office and leadership skills. These sessions are facilitated by this year’s state officers, selected chapter advisors, and some of your fellow Alumni.

The conference starts Monday, October 16 at 5:00 p.m.
The conference ends Tuesday, October 17 by 3:00 p.m.
You can attend one day or both days.

Conference Housing Information
All hotel reservations must be received by Michigan Alumni DECA by October 9, 2006. Reservations must be prepaid and sent with the registration form on the last page of this newsletter. Room rates and fees are:
