| 1. Each school Must submit a single membership roster for all Marketing Education teachers at the school. (Multiple rosters from the same school will not be accepted.) 2. Rosters must be submitted Online. Mail copies and faxes will not be accepted. 3. Membership rosters are due to National DECA by October 31, via the online system. 4. State and National fees total $17.00 ($9.00 State, $8.00 National). The state fee includes accident insurance for each member. 5. All chapters must have at least ten (10) student members or have 100% enrollment of all marketing education students. 6. All chapter advisors must pay membership fees. 7. National DECA will send membership cards, pins, and materials directly to each chapter, as each chapter’s roster and payment are received. 8. National DECA will accept purchase orders for membership. 9. When the roster has been completed, it may be used as an invoice for the purchase order or payment. 10. Once a roster has been submitted to National DECA, the chapter is responsible for payment for the number of members submitted (the amount due on the roster). 11. State and National membership fees are non-transferable and non-refundable. 12. All conference participants must be paid members. Final rosters are due at least one (1) week prior to their respective district conference. Non-members will be allowed to compete, but will have to pay a $5.00 fee in addition to the membership fee. 13. If an individual, registered for a conference, drops out of the marketing education program prior to the conference for which they are registered or does not attend the conference, they are still required to pay the membership fees, and if necessary, the above penalty. 14. Priority seating will be reserved for chapters achieving the top two levels of the membership campaign at the awards session of their choice. Higher priority will be given to chapters who achieve highest level of the campaign and by the date the roster and payment are received. There will be open seating sections of the Great Lakes Center for chapters who have not achieved one of these levels in the campaign. The Membership Campaign Reporting Form must be received by January 5 to be eligible for priority seating. 15. Michigan DECA defines 100% Membership as all students enrolled in all State Approved Marketing Education Classes taught by an individual teacher. State approved programs include all marketing education classes that are recognized and receive added cost funding from the Michigan Department of Labor & Economic Growth. This includes, but is not limited to, introductory courses, specialty courses (i.e. apparel, tourism, entrepreneurship) and management courses as well as general marketing education courses. 100% Membership recognition will not be given to those chapters who do not submit the completed 100% Membership Reporting Form by January 5. |
