2002 International CDC Case A
Bull's Eye, a leading discount retailer has hired you consulting firm. During a recent contest, they collected demographic data including traditional and e-mail addresses of many of their customers. They would like you team of consultants to develop a marketing program to effectively communicate with their customers based on the information gathered. |
2002 International CDC Case B
You have been invited by Michigan DECA to develop a theme for the upcoming membership year. Your presentation should cover how the theme relates to DECA's goals and purposes, and why it would appeal to potential members of the high school division. |
2002 State CDC Your team members have been hired by Metro City to develop a marketing campaign to promote the city as a safe destination to travel. After the events of September 11th, Metro City has seen a 40 percent decline in tourism. You will present your plan to Metro City's tourism office. |
2000 National CDC Your team of consultants has been called in to assist with the staffing needs of a new regional mall development. The Riversprings Mall will be opening in four months and its stores will need to hire more than 2,000 employees. Because of the low unemployment situation, the individual stores are having difficulty hiring qualified employees. You are to develop a plan to assist the stores hire employees. |
1999 National CDC Case A You are to assume the role of a sales training company specializing in the hospitality industry. A hotel chain has hired you to develop a training plan for their hotel employees. The management of the hotel feels that all employees, regardless of their position, should address customer concerns as their number one job priority. Some of the employee groups feel that their job is not about personal service, but maintaining the physical environment of the hotel. For example, the housekeeping staff feels that all customers should be directed to the front desk to receive assistance. The housekeepers feel that their job priority is cleaning the guest rooms. Develop a training plan for all employees that will teach the employees the importance of customer service, and how to fit customer service into their daily schedule. You will be presenting your training session to the head housekeeper and the hotel manager. |
1999 National CDC Case B You are to assume the role of a marketing management team for an advertising consulting company. An internationally known theme park has solicited your services. They are in need of a promotional mix for their hospitality organization. The company has been in business for over thirty years and has four theme parks within a three mile radius. Several family resorts have been built within a ten mile radius of the parks and are owned by the same company that owns the theme parks. During the past thirty years, the company has realized increased sales on the average of 7% per year. The current board of directors feels that their average increase in sales is not large enough and has hired you to develop a promotional mix to increase sales. Your team is to develop a promotional mix that you will present to representatives from the board of directors. |
